Hemolysis, Lipemia, incorrect specimen type, insufficient sample volume, improper storage conditions, exceeds specimen stability guidelines, contaminated sample.

  The American Diabetic Association recommends the following guidelines:
     < 7% indicates a patient in control
     > 8% indicates a patient in possible need of intervention
